Our Craft

At Jari Studios, we curate distinctive, handcrafted pieces from across India, each shaped by regional tradition, skilled hands, and a deep respect for the craft.

Madhubani, rooted in the ancient celebration of Ram and Sita’s marriage, is one of India’s most recognized folk art traditions. Once painted on village walls using natural dyes and twigs, it gained global recognition through Padma Shri artist Sita Devi and continues to support generations of artisans. 

The Styles of Mithila Painting

Madhubani art features five distinct styles: the vibrant Bharni, intricate Katchni, symbolic Tantrik, pattern-based Godna, and the red-inked Kohbar. Each technique uses natural dyes and twigs.
